Milan, Italy - July 8th

Instead of going to bed last night, I went out with a group of my fellow students to a section of Milan with canals running through it. There were tons of restaurants lining the street but none that could fit all twelve of us so we had to split up. The place I ate at was right on the water, and there was a automatic zip line that was pulling wake boarders up and down the canal. The food was some of the best I've eaten yet here. I had ravioli, mussels, and the house wine came from a vineyard only a few miles outside the city. After dinner we had to hustle back to the metro before it stopped running at midnight.
This morning we had a lecture on Italian Media, mostly television. Our teacher was some pretty boy all the girls creamed their pants for, but he did a pretty good job of teaching as well. Like most things modern day Italians do, besides make exotic cars and good wine, the television broadcasting blows goats. A politician named Berlusconi took over all the public stations and the government had control over all the broadcasting until reformation in the 70s. Now they are beginning to get more and more private television stations but the public stations still dominate nearly 80% of the TV audience.
When class was over, I came back to the room and watched Star Wars. After that I ordered some pizza and played ping pong. Didn't do much of anything the entire afternoon and went to bed early since I had to catch a train to Genova at 7 the next morning.
