Milan, Italy – July 6th

This morning was completely uneventful. Got up, got breakfast, and went to class.

At school, we had an Italian professor lecture on various demographics of Italy. She spoke about the Mafia, Italy’s 47% income tax, and the problem with Italy’s population living longer and not having as many children to support the elderly. When the lecture was over, a few of us went to get lunch at McDonalds. After eating, we had about an hour to shop around and since today is Kwanza’s birthday, we are going to a club tonight which the girls needed to buy clothes for. They got some dresses and Gary got some skinny jeans. I found some neon shorts, but they were a little too short. At two, we walked back to campus where we found our classroom occupied by Italian students. The movie Dr. Wright had planned on us watching had to be postponed. Since we were still a little hungover from the night before, Gary and I went back to the room to sleep.

After our nap, we showered and ordered pizza. At the supermarket, I bought some vodka and a bottle of champagne. Gary got some Red Bull to mix with the vodka and another bottle of champagne to celebrate Kwanza’s birthday properly. Back in the room, we ate our pizza and got dressed in our metro clubbing attire. We began drinking and took the usual before-party pictures looking like pimps with all the ladies dressed to impress. The pregaming continued for a few hours until we eventually made our way down to the metro and to the club. The place we went was outside, and we managed to get in free because our Italian friend knew the owner. At the entrance we got coupons for a free drink so I immediately went to the bar to get mine. The rest of the night was a mixture of dancing, buying drinks, and later on in the night, I met this Italian girl which I apparently made out with for an hour. I think we were more than the Italians could handle because they all wanted to dance with us and did not seem to mind when we all walked into the lounge section and took another groups section. At the end of the night I took a taxi back to the dorm with Allie and Greta. That’s all I can remember at this point.
